How Online Booking Works

On a DCS site with the revenue add-on enabled, customers can book your services online and you manage every appointment from one place. You publish the services you offer, people book them against your calendar, and the booking, the customer, and the payment all land in the portal's Revenue workspace.

This page is a quick orientation. For the full tour of the workspace, see the Revenue Overview.

How it works

  1. Publish your services. In the Revenue workspace, add the offerings customers can book under Services — what they are, and what they cost.
  2. Customers book online. Visitors pick a service on your site and choose a time. Each booking is recorded against the calendar behind your Bookings & Schedule.
  3. Take payment. Payments run through Stripe, so the charge and payout are handled on Stripe's infrastructure — see Accept Payments with Stripe.
  4. Manage it from the portal. New bookings, the people who made them, and the record of every payment all appear in the Revenue workspace under Bookings & Schedule, Customers, and Transactions.

What you can manage

The Revenue workspace groups the day-to-day tools into focused screens:

  • Services — the offerings customers can book or buy.
  • Bookings & Schedule — incoming bookings and the calendar behind them.
  • Customers — the people who book and buy from you.
  • Transactions — the record of payments.
  • Subscriptions — recurring plans, for businesses that sell them.
  • Promotions — discounts and offers.

If your business requires it, you can also publish a Liability Waiver that customers agree to as part of booking.

Is booking available on my site?

The Revenue workspace — and online booking with it — appears only on sites where the revenue add-on is enabled. If you do not see a Revenue area in your portal, revenue features are not turned on for that site yet. Contact us through the portal to enable them.
